COVID-19 pandemic: indications of the Kosovar and Italian Authorities

All persons intending to travel abroad, regardless of destination or reason for travel, should consider that any journey during this period may involve a health risk.

It is recommended to carefully plan every aspect of travel, including the possibility of spending an additional period abroad along with a health insurance policy that also covers the risks associated with COVID-19.

 

TRAVELS FROM KOSOVO TO ITALY

From 1 June 2022 a Green Pass or equivalent certificate is no longer needed to enter Italy.

All Covid-19 related entry restrictions have been lifted.

Limited containment measures remain in place in Italy, until June 15, 2022, such as wearing face masks on some occasions (for example, when entering an aircraft used for commercial passenger transport services).

It is advised however to verify the boarding conditions with the transporting company, which could be more restrictive.

 

TRAVELS FROM ITALY TO KOSOVO

All terrestrial border crossings are open, as well as the airport of Pristina.

The current Kosovo legislation in force allows the entry in the Country to the holders of:

· certificate of vaccination with at least two doses or one dose of Janssen vaccine against COVID-19;

· negative PCR test for COVID 19 not older than one week (for those with medical evidence from a specialist in the relevant field that they have contraindications and are exempt from vaccination).

Those under the age of 16 are exempted.

 

SITUATION IN ITALY

The state of emergency in Italy ended on the 31 March 2022. Furthermore, there is no longer an obligation to show the so-called “Green Pass” for access to transport, restaurants or hotel services, nor for access to other commercial facilities.

Some measures concerning the containment and management of the epidemiological emergency from COVID-19 are still in force.

Until June 15, it is mandatory to wear FFP2 type respiratory protective equipment in the following cases:

· for accessing and using public transportations;

· for shows open to the public that take place indoors.

In addition, it is mandatory for workers, users and visitors of health, social and health care facilities to wear respiratory protection devices. It is recommended to wear respiratory protective equipment in all indoor public places or places open to the public

SITUATION IN KOSOVO

Starting from 30 April 2022 Kosovo reduced the measures against COVID-19.

Among the main measures still in force, there is an obligation to show the following documentation in order to have access to most of the services:

· certificate of vaccination with at least two doses or one dose of Janssen vaccine against COVID-19;

· negative PCR test for COVID 19 not older than one week (for those with medical evidence from a specialist in the relevant field that they have contraindications and are exempt from vaccination).

Italian citizens in Kosovo are recommended to follow the indications of the Local Authorities, updated daily on this Facebook page, and to attain to the containment measures against the COVID-19 infection promoted by the Italian Ministry of Health.
