Farnesina Secretary-General, Ambassador Sequi, meets the Ambassador of Kosovo to Italy, Haxhitasim

On the 14th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Italy and Kosovo, the meeting between Farnesina Secretary-General, Ambassador Ettore Francesco Sequi, and the Ambassador of Kosovo to Italy, Lendita Haxhitasim, confirmed the consolidation of bilateral relations and Italian support to strengthen Kosovo’s democratic institutions and to its European prospects.

During the cordial conversation, Ambassador Sequi recalled the message of closeness and good wishes by the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, for the anniversary of Kosovo’s declaration of independence, and how the latter has contributed to affirming democratic values in the region.

Ambassador Haxhitasim and Secretary-General Sequi shared the importance of bilateral political dialogue, which has been strengthened in recent years thanks to Minister Luigi Di Maio’s three visits to Kosovo since the beginning of his mandate, in line with the attention that Italy pays to the Western Balkans region, to its stabilization, and prosperity.

Ambassador Haxhitasim and Secretary-General Sequi also confirmed their commitment to further strengthen the economic and trade cooperation between Italy and Kosovo in light of the interesting prospects for the economic development of the young Balkan country and its complementarity with the Italian production system.
