Ambassador Maurizio Antonini.<\/p>\n<p>Based on the Vienna Convention on diplomatic relations dated April 18th, 1961, Embassy\u2019s functions, among others, include the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>representing Italy in the Kosovo;<\/li>\n<li>protecting in Kosovo the interests of Italy and of its nationals, within the limits permitted by international law;<\/li>\n<li>negotiating with the Government of Kosovo;<\/li>\n<li>ascertaining conditions and developments in Kosovo and reporting back to the Government of Italy;<\/li>\n<li>promoting friendly relations between Italy and Kosovo, and developing their economic, cultural and scientific relations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Embassy relies on the collaboration of the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ice.it\/it\/mercati\/albania\/tirana\">\u00a0ITA Office<\/a>\u00a0(Italian Trade Agency) and of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/tirana.aics.gov.it\/en\/home\/\">AICS\u00a0Office in Tirana<\/a>\u00a0(Italian Agency for Development and Cooperation), responsible for Kosovo as well. The Defence Attach\u00e9 is located in Skopje.<\/p>\n<p>Through its Consular chancellery, the Italian Embassy in Pristina provides assistance and consular services to Italian and foreign citizens residing in its respective districts, which includes the whole Country.<\/p>\n<p>In accordance with the Law n. 470 of 1988, Italian citizens residing abroad for a period longer than 12 months must register in A.I.R.E. (Registry of Italian Nationals Abroad): such registration must be formalised before requesting the provision of consular services.
