The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (Directorate General for Europe and International Trade Policy-DGUE) has published a publicity notice (Bando Balcani) in favour of projects aimed at enabling Italian participation in international peace and humanitarian initiatives and the protection of human rights.<\/p>\n
The contributions are granted to proposals of initiatives related to the following thematic areas, in the Western Balkans region (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina,\u00a0Kosovo<\/strong>, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia):<\/p>\n a) consolidation of democratic institutions and support to national and regional reconciliation processes; strengthening of the process of adhesion of the Western Balkans to the EU and promotion of EU integration; prevention of terrorism and extremism, reform of justice and electoral systems, transparency, fight against corruption and organized crime;<\/p>\n b) inclusion and enhancement of youth, women, and national minorities within the processes of regional reconciliation and EU integration;<\/p>\n c) strengthening the protection and promotion of human rights;<\/p>\n d) promotion of dissemination and protection of international and humanitarian law.<\/p>\n The proposed initiatives may be of a bilateral or regional nature.<\/p>\n The available funding is 240,000 euros. Each selected proposal may benefit from a contribution not exceeding 90% of the total amount of the costs necessary for the implementation of the proposed activities and in any case for a maximum amount of 30,000 euros.<\/p>\n Submission of proposals by private entities having their registered office in Italy or in another European Union country shall take place exclusively by certified email to\u00a0dgue.adriatico-balcani@cert.esteri.it<\/a>\u00a0and simultaneously to\u00a0bandobalcani@esteri.it<\/a>\u00a0. The e-mail transmission shall indicate in the subject line the words \u201cRIF. Bando Balcani 2024\u201d and the name of the proposing entity.<\/p>\n For subjects who have their registered office in a non-EU country, the application is submitted exclusively through the territorially competent Italian Diplomatic Representation. Specifically, for entities having their registered office in\u00a0Kosovo<\/strong>, applications (with\u00a0all documents and declarations<\/u>) shall be sent exclusively in digital mode to\u00a0segreteria.pristina@esteri.it<\/a>, indicating in the subject line the words \u201cBalkans Call for Proposals 2024 \u2013 Name of the entity\u201d.<\/p>\n The\u00a0deadline<\/strong>\u00a0for submitting the application is\u00a030 September 2024<\/strong>, 12.00, Rome time.
