{"id":8563,"date":"2026-04-17T12:42:01","date_gmt":"2026-04-17T10:42:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ambpristina.esteri.it\/news\/dall_ambasciata\/2026\/04\/italian-screens-il-cinema-contemporaneo-italiano-a-pristina\/"},"modified":"2026-04-17T14:11:36","modified_gmt":"2026-04-17T12:11:36","slug":"italian-screens-il-cinema-contemporaneo-italiano-a-pristina","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ambpristina.esteri.it\/en\/news\/dall_ambasciata\/2026\/04\/italian-screens-il-cinema-contemporaneo-italiano-a-pristina\/","title":{"rendered":"Italian Screens: Contemporary Italian Cinema in Pristina"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Embassy of Italy in Pristina, in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute in Tirana, is pleased to present <em><strong>Italian Screens &#8211; New Italian Cinema<\/strong><\/em>, a film showcase promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and by the Directorate-General for Cinema and Audiovisual of the Ministry of Culture (DGCA-MiC), conceived by Roberto Stabile, Head of Internationalization at Cinecitt\u00e0.<\/p>\n<p>Launched in 2022, the initiative aims to promote abroad the very best of contemporary Italian film production, as well as Italy\u2019s tax credit system and fiscal incentives supporting distribution and co-productions.<\/p>\n<p>Three films, each with its own style and themes, will be screened in Pristina, offering audiences a fresh and multifaceted look at Italy today: <em>La Grazia<\/em> by Paolo Sorrentino, <em>Un anno di scuola<\/em> by Laura Samani, and <em>Fuori<\/em> by Mario Martone.<\/p>\n<p>Screenings will take place at <strong>Kino Armata in Pristina from 21 to 23 April<\/strong>, in the original Italian language with English subtitles. Admission is free.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Screening programme:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>21 April, 19:00 \u2013 <\/strong><em><strong>La Grazia<\/strong><\/em> by Paolo Sorrentino<br \/>\nAn imagined portrait of a President of the Republic at the end of his term, caught between ethical dilemmas and private life. The film received 13 nominations at the David di Donatello Awards, 2 nominations at the European Film Awards, and won the Volpi Cup for Best Actor for Toni Servillo.<\/p>\n<p><strong>22 April, 19:00 \u2013 <\/strong><em><strong>Un anno di scuola<\/strong><\/em> by Laura Samani<br \/>\nTrieste, 2007. The arrival of a girl in an all-boys class disrupts the balance of a group of friends. A story of growing up and difficult choices. The film was awarded at the Venice International Film Festival with the \u201cAutrici under 40\u201d prize for Best Director and Screenplay (Laura Samani), and the Orizzonti Award for Best Actor (Giacomo Covi).<\/p>\n<p><strong>23 April, 19:00 \u2013 <\/strong><em><strong>Fuori<\/strong><\/em> by Mario Martone<br \/>\nRome, 1980. After prison, Goliarda Sapienza tries to rebuild her life. With a powerful performance by Valeria Golino, the film captures the complexity of the female inner world. Winner of the Nastro d\u2019Argento for Best Actress (Valeria Golino) and for Best Supporting Actress (Matilda De Angelis and Elodie).
