The Heads of Mission of the EU and of Member States in Kosovo take note of the resignation of the President of Kosovo, Hashim Tha\u00e7i. We appreciate the cooperation with the Specialist Chambers shown in recent days by President Hashim Tha\u00e7i and former PDK leader Kadri Veseli as well as Mr Rexhep Selimi and former Speaker of the Assembly Jakup Krasniqi. Moreover, we appreciate the addresses to the public yesterday by Mr Thaci and Mr Veseli, calling for respect of the judicial process.<\/p>\n
This reflects Kosovo’s responsibility and determination to respect the rule of law and hold individuals who may have engaged in unlawful acts to account. It should be recalled that under the law, the indicted individuals are innocent until proven guilty and their legal rights should be respected. Kosovo needs to remain committed to the process.<\/p>\n
For the EU and its Member States, the respect of Rule of Law, democracy and Human Rights is the most crucial priority. For this reason we have strongly supported the establishment of the Specialist Chambers, an integral part of Kosovo’s Rule of Law system, and will continue to do so until the Chambers\u2019 mission, which Kosovo has also committed to, is fulfilled. This is essential for the consolidation of Kosovo’s European perspective.<\/p>\n

P\u00ebr k\u00ebt\u00eb arsye, ne kemi mb\u00ebshtetur fuqimisht krijimin e Dhomave t\u00eb Specializuara, si pjes\u00eb integrale e sistemit t\u00eb Kosov\u00ebs p\u00ebr sundimin e ligjit dhe do t\u00eb vazhdojm\u00eb ta b\u00ebjm\u00eb k\u00ebt\u00eb derisa t\u00eb p\u00ebrmbushet misioni i Dhomave, ndaj t\u00eb cilave edhe Kosova \u00ebsht\u00eb e p\u00ebrkushtuar. Cenimo saradnju sa Specijalizovanim ve\u0107ima koju su poslednjih dana pokazali predsednik Ha\u0161im Ta\u010di i biv\u0161i lider PDK-a Kadri Veselji, kao i g. Red\u017eep Seljimi i biv\u0161i predsednik Skup\u0161tine Jakup Krasni\u0107i. \u0160tavi\u0161e, cenimo ju\u010dera\u0161nje obra\u0107anje g. Ta\u010dija i g. Veseljija javnosti, u kom su pozvali na po\u0161tovanje sudskog procesa.<\/p>\n Ovo odra\u017eava odgovornost i re\u0161enost Kosova da po\u0161tuje vladavinu prava, a pojedince koji su se mo\u017eda upustili u nezakonite radnje pozove na odgovornost. Treba se prisetiti da su, prema zakonu, optu\u017eena lica nevina dok se ne doka\u017ee da su kriva, a njihova zakonska prava treba po\u0161tovati. Kosovo mora da ostane posve\u0107eno datom procesu.<\/p>\n Za EU i njene zemlje \u010dlanice, po\u0161tovanje vladavine prava, demokratije i ljudskih prava najva\u017eniji je prioritet. Iz tog razloga \u010dvrsto smo podr\u017eali uspostavljanje Specijalizovanih ve\u0107a, kao sastavnog dela kosovskog sistema vladavine prava i nastavi\u0107emo da to \u010dinimo dok zadatak ovih Ve\u0107a, kome se i Kosovo posvetilo, ne bude ispunjen.
