For the eighth edition of Fare Cinema – a festival dedicated to promoting Italian cinema and the film industry, supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) – the Italian Embassy in Pristina, together with the Italian Cultural Institute in Tirana and DokuFest, has organized the Italian Screens program in Kosovo. The goal is to highlight the best works of contemporary Italian cinema. Italian Screens is promoted by MAECI, Cinecittà, and the Directorate General for Cinema and Audiovisual of the Ministry of Culture.
The program – reflecting the Embassy’s commitment to deepening cultural ties between Italy and Kosovo – features a series of free, open-to-the-public traveling screenings at the Oda Theater in Pristina and DocuKino in Prizren, bringing for the first time to Kosovo five critically acclaimed and award-winning contemporary Italian films. All movies will be shown in their original Italian language with English subtitles.
Italian Ambassador to Pristina, Maurizio Antonini, said: “We are very pleased to present a festival celebrating the talent of contemporary Italian cinema, with a special focus on new female voices and perspectives. The inclusion of two female directors, Delpero and Vicario, among the selected films, and the central role of the protagonists in Diamanti, is no coincidence – it is a tribute to the vitality and depth of the female gaze in telling the story of our society.”
