Fare Cinema 2022: Italian author films available online until June 19

After the retrospectives on Italian filmmakers Antonioni and Pasolini organized by the Embassy, from Monday 13th June it will be held on-line the fifth edition of “Fare Cinema”, the review launched in 2018 that includes the organization of a series of initiatives to promote Italian cinema and the Italian film industry in the world, organized by the Ministry of the Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the network of Embassies, Consulates and Italian Cultural Institutes, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, ANICA, Agency ICE, Istitute Luce – Cinecittà, Italian Film Commissions and the Academy of Italian Cinema – Award David di Donatello.

Also in 2022, Fare Cinema offers a varied range of content accessible online free of charge until June 19th, on the Italiana portal and on the MyMovies platform.

Italian Renaissance is a series of conversations with authors representatives of the renewed attention dedicated to contemporary Italian cinema by international festivals and specialized critics. Realized with Fondazione Cinema per Roma, the series is accompanied by the viewing of short films signed by each of the authors involved.

Thanks to the Italian Academy of Cinemaand ANICA, Italian Screens presents the five finalist’s titles in the “Best Short Film” category of the 2022 David di Donatello Awards.

On the centenary of Vittorio Gassmann’s birth, a special tribute is paid to this emblematic figure of Italian cinema, with a specially produced interview with Alessandro Gassmann and the screening of the documentary “Sono Gassman! Vittorio re della commedia (I am Gassman! Vittorio king of the comedy)” by Fabrizio Corallo.

Another important anniversary celebrated this year is the anniversary of Pier Paolo Pasolini: to mark the occasion, the Cineteca di Bologna has produced Pasolini 100, a series of original video-introductions to Pasolini’s films, which will also accompany the theatrical screening.

Fare Cinema 2022: an edition in which Italian cinema is presented in its various facets, thanks to a program that ranges from the great authors of the past to the artistic trends that have successfully emerged on the scene in recent years, up to the most recent promises of contemporary production.
