IMPORTANT NOTICE: By Decree of the Minister of Health of 22 February 2022, beginning from 1 March 2022, the Country lists have been removed and the rules to enter Italy have been standardized.
Kosovar citizens who would like to enter Italy are subject to an entry visa. It is possible to verify the type of visa required on the Visa for Italy portal.
IMPORTANT: even when a visa is issued, border authorities may refuse entrance to a foreign citizen who does not meet all the requisites required by current legislation.
The visa issued by an Italian Mission abroad allows access for transit or for short stays (up to 90 days), both in Italy and in the other countries applying the Schengen Convention, and takes the name of “Uniform Schengen Visa” (USV). Similarly, the USV issued by Diplomatic-Consular Representations of another country applying the Schengen Convention, also allows access to Italian territory.
The long-stay entry visa (over 90 days) takes the name of “National Visa” (NV) and allows access for long-term stays in the territory of the State that issued the visa; during its period of validity, it allows free movement for a period not exceeding 90 days per semester in the territory of the other Member States.
The Embassy offers all visa applicants the opportunity of booking an appointment in order to submit their visa application, directly and free of charge, accessing the website Prenot@ami. This service is completely free of charge and directly accessible to every citizen, therefore no intermediation from third parties is required. No agency or intermediary is authorized by the Embassy to operate and provide outsourcing services. Consequently, any kind of intermediation by third parties is not authorized and is therefore an abuse: we thus invite users to report it eventually to the competent local Authorities.
The Visa Section at the Italian Embassy can be reached via email at: firstname.lastname@example.org
